Black men only care about generalization when it’s projected onto them. They’re totally cool when someone is going at black “females” and bitches. Bye nigga.

"I will give you an example of how race affects my life. I live in a place called Alpine, New Jersey. Live in Alpine, New Jersey, right? My house costs millions of dollars. [some whistles and cheers from the audience] Don’t hate the player, hate the game. In my neighborhood, there are four black people. Hundreds of houses, four black people. Who are these black people? Well, there’s me, Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z and Eddie Murphy. Only black people in the whole neighborhood. So let’s break it down, let’s break it down: me, I’m a decent comedian. I’m a’ight. [applause] Mary J. Blige, one of the greatest R&B singers to ever walk the Earth. Jay-Z, one of the greatest rappers to ever live. Eddie Murphy, one of the funniest actors to ever, ever do it. Do you know what the white man who lives next door to me does for a living? He’s a fucking dentist! He ain’t the best dentist in the world…he ain’t going to the dental hall of fame…he don’t get plaques for getting rid of plaque. He’s just a yank-your-tooth-out dentist. See, the black man gotta fly to get to somethin’ the white man can walk to." Chris Rock

I love him so much…stay preaching.

there are so many black trans women that are murdered because some nigga felt entitled to their time and space feels embarrassed by being attracted to a trans woman

like there are countless stories of str8 black men hitting on trans women then get violent when they find out their trans as if they were the ones whos space was being encroached on

I dont think those “str8” dudes

howtobeterrell:

were angry at Amiyah because they think she wants to sleep with them but the opposite..they actually want to sleep with her. But because she is trans they think of it as some affront to their manhood. i think they get hard thinking about fucking her and angry at the same time.

Praying for my trans sisters out there. these niggas is crazy.

"Three Black Queer Women Documentaries You Can Watch or Preview For Free" →

liesjournal:

Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth

Alice Walker: Beauty in Truth is the first film biography of writer and activist Alice Walker. Most famous for her seminal novel The Color Purple for which she won a Pulitzer Prize, Walker was raised in poverty in the rural South during the violent and seismic social changes of mid-20th century America. Women, poverty and civil rights became the inherent themes in her writing. “I’m not a lesbian, or a bisexual, or straight,” Walker says in the film. “I’m curious. If you’re truly living life, how could you not be?”

Pay it No Mind: The Life and Times of Marsha P. Johnson

This feature-length documentary focuses on revolutionary trans-activist, Marsha “Pay it No Mind” Johnson who was a Stonewall instigator, Andy Warhol model, drag queen, sex worker, starving actress, and saint. With her final interview from 1992, director Michael Kasino captures the legendary human rights activist as she recounts her life at the forefront of The Stonewall Riots in the 1960s, the creation of S.T.A.R. (Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries) with Sylvia Rivera in the ’70s, and a New York City activist throughout the ’80s and early ’90s.

Living With Pride: Ruth Ellis @ 100

Born July 23, 1899, in Springfield, Illinois, Ruth Ellis was the oldest “out” African American lesbian known. The film offers a rare opportunity to experience a century of our American history as lived by one inspiring woman. By example, Ruth Ellis shows us what is possible and what can be realized, if one not only lives long and ages well but also lives with pride. Ruth Ellis died at home peacefully in her sleep on October 5, 2000. She was 101.
